Dear Jimi

Thank you for submitting your kind comments onto the NHS Choices website regarding your experiences as a day patient in the Radiology Department at The James Cook University Hospital. I was delighted to receive your positive feedback regarding staff in the department and the care you have received during your visit. I will, of course, share your comments with the Radiology Department staff and I am sure they will be delighted to receive such positive feedback on their services.

It may interest you to know the trust runs a ‘Thank You Award’ scheme where NHS colleagues, patients and relatives can nominate staff in recognition of their work. These are presented throughout the year for acts above the call of duty, or where staff have shown exceptional kindness towards patients and their relatives. If you wish to make a nomination please either write to Ms Deborah Jenkins, Chairman, South Tees Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust, The Murray Building, The James Cook University Hospital, Marton Road, Middlesbrough, TS4 3BW or email deborah.jenkins@stees.nhs.uk

We also welcome nominations for the Trust’s annual ‘Nightingale Awards’ which, once a year, recognise the important contribution nursing and midwifery staff make to patients and their families at The James Cook University Hospital or the Friarage Hospital on a day-to-day basis. Forms are available from the Director of Nursing & Patient Safety’s office on 01642 854344 or by emailing val.fothergill@stees.nhs.uk

I would like to thank you again for your kind comments and offer you my best wishes for the future.

Yours sincerely

RACHEL GAFFNEY (MS)
