"Long term anxiety."

About: Hounslow IAPT

(as the patient),

I started CBT from August 2016. I had a session fortnightly with my therapist and had six sesssions in total. The help and advice I received was exellent. The anxiety has now been controlled with lots of practical things to do. I eventually became my own therapist, but did not think I would be able to succeed. I have received excellent encouragement and support I am now feeling much better. I have learnt to recognise my symptoms and how to deal with them, before it all becomes overwhelming. I am now in a better place than I was just over 2 and a half months ago. I cannot thank my therapist enought for her expertise and patience.

Dear Happycbt,

Thank you for taking the time to share your story; it is great to know that you feel much better, and that the techniques proved useful! Becoming your own therapist is one of the key goals for CBT sessions, it sounds like you've made a really good use of the six sessions you had and now have all the tools to maintain the gains from treatment and stay well! We are very happy to hear that you found the service received excellent and will make sure that your therapist gets your positive feedback. We wish you all the very best for the future.
