Arrived in A&E, porters, health care assistants, nurses, Doctors and all staff were amazing, keeping me up to date with everything that was going on with my mother and fathers care, transferred to ITU and Midford and further wards thereafter. I was informed of all the procedures, care, medications and follow up care required, physiotherapy were also involved in their care and provided further exercises for when they were discharged. My mother was air ambulanced to the RUH as she was unconscious at home, diagnosed and treated for meningitis, and my father was blue lighted the same evening for a GI bleed. Both of my parents were extremely ill, and have thankfully made a full recovery, had the staff not had been so vigilant and excellent in providing the best care they could, and informing me of every step that was required they would have both died. CT scans, lumbar punctures, blood tests, endoscopes, blood transfusions, as well as the cost of highly enthusiastic and caring individuals the NHS is amazing, thank you to all of the staff at the RUH.
