"Formidable health care"

About: Sunderland Royal Hospital / Rheumatology

I have been coming to rheumatology for about 2 years now, and the nurses and consultants are very nice amiable, can't fault their service and runs with the help of the health care assistants.

I do however find 2-3 of the health care assistants a force to be reckoned with...unhelpful rude and no respect, when I have asked a question one particular HCA puts their hands in their pockets and makes me feel uncomfortable. My feeling is that these few have worked here for some time and are 'in charge' and if they don't like it, it doesn't happen. There have been some lovely H.C.A on here only to be gone the next visit, can't help but feel these few make new staff feel unwelcome also.

We apologise that your experience is not as consistent as we would expect. I have passed your concerns onto the manager for Rheumatology, and I assure you he will take them very seriously.

In the meantime, our hospital Help and Advice Service exists so that we can speak with you personally and that any issues you raise can be investigated. I would be grateful if you could get in touch through the details below so we can find out what led to your experience.
