"Doctors and nurses were very respectful at Northern General"

About: Northern General Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as the patient),

I went to A&E at the Northern General Hospital, Sheffield with severe vomiting as I am diabetic and have been admitted several times before with vomiting. I often need treatment to get the vomiting under control, before it threatens my diabetes control.

Despite A&E being very busy, I was prioritised and seen quite quickly. I was eventually taken to an observation ward where I was put on a drip and given anti-sickness drugs.

As this situation has happened to me a lot in the past, the doctors and nurses were happy to be led partly by me and were very respectful. As ever, things did take time as the hospital was very busy, but I was happy with the care and treatment that I received.
