"I was told by the surgeon that ..."

About: University Hospital Of North Durham

(as the patient),

What I liked

I was told by the surgeon that I might have torn a piece of cartilage in my knee. It was explained to me what the surgery would involve and the risks very clearly and given the option of physiotherapy rather than surgery, although I was told that physiotherapy would not fix the problem. Options for treatment were explained clearly, all members of staff from nurses and physiotherapists to surgeons were friendly and re-assuring and surgery was set quickly for a time that suited me.

What could be improved

Waiting time to see the surgeon for discharge was quite long (waited 1hr 45 for a 2 minute discussion and discharge)
