I have to say that two years ago when i was treated at the Hospital my treatment was of a high standard and of good quality However this was notthe case on this latest visit

Following my grandsons visit to the A $ E department this I believe that we have grounds for a formal complaint. To this end I telephoned the hospital to request some basic information ( names). However a member of the A & E staff refused to provide the names of either the Consultant with overall l responsibility the for A & E nor the name of the Doctor on call Consultant for Paediatrics . I believe that this was an attempt to block my complaint at the earliest possible time. The result of the poor treatment resulted in my 5 year old grandson being driven 20 plus miles to the nearest childrens’ hospital only to be told to return the following day for stitches to be administered to a wound. It is my opinion that the staff at Rochdale Infirmary simply could not be bothered to administer emergency medical treatment to a child Nor could they offer an opinion on the injury as the only staff available are only qualified to treat Adults because if they were trained to deal with all injuries then by refusing to fully treat my grandson they are in Breach of the NMC / Medical Ethics
