I arrived at Watford General A&E at 8pm on Saturday expecting a long wait and chaos. Yes, it was busy and clearly the staff were under pressure. However, from the gynaecologist, who listened patiently and with care, who decided to keep me in to carry out further investigations to the nurse who welcomed me into the Elizabeth Ward, to the person who brought me breakfast and their beautiful sunshine personality who cheered me up during Sunday...and the surgeon and doctors who explained what was happening with such care and respect ...and everyone else I interacted with, what could have been a stressful time, was made into a reassuring and comforting one. I could see everyone was under pressure because of lack of staff and many patients. However, they were always offering a smile and sincere care which meant such a lot to me. This is why I want to send my heartfelt thanks, appreciation and gratitude to you all for looking after me so well. Kind regards, Helen Miller. Elizabeth Ward, Watford General.
