"Suicidal"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Accident and emergency

Attended the emergency department today with a friend who had just attempted suicide, this wasnt the first attempt and my friend had decided this was a serious problem now and wanted to come clean, admit all and get admitted to hospital as they had been hallucinating, is terrified of crowded places. The a and e staff were brilliant, gave us a private room to wait in and were really understanding.Afters waiting 5 hours which wasn't really an issue we expected a long wait, a member of the mental health team turned up, asked what we expected them to do about it, said they don't admit people anymore and said someone would ring tomorrow.Needless.to say my friend feels even worse now than before, as before they had the hope that there was help there if they needed it, now they know no one cares. Absolutely disgusting behaviour from a staff member that you would expect to reassure you, instead they were, rude, didn't listen and didn't care
