"mum admitted breathing problem Wednesday..."

About: North Devon District Hospital / Accident and emergency

I phoned for help as my mum was in and out of consciousness, what I did not realise my mum was not getting enough oxygen in her blood. The paramedics arrived at 2am, we then went to hospital after she was assesed. The A&E department made me feel comfortable with the questions they had to ask. Mum was made stable and taken onto ICU the team were wonderful they treated mum with care she needed and started teaching her with knowledge she required to live due to the fact she has a lyranjectomy tube to breath. Her nurse and the team made her comfortable and started teaching her & getting her the help she required her recovery was so quick she was removed to Glossop ward by Thursday, the team were amazing they once again got mum the care she needed from the physiotherapist, Dietician, and Speach Therapist if I have not named you please note that I do not know you thank you to all members of staff on ICU & Glossop ward at this time, and all the staff from cleaner, to the person who made the coffee and teas, all nursing staff to doctors thankyou for taking care of my mother. Thankyou all the doctors and Nurses on ICU that night and day and the Paramedics ambulance team that took my mother to the hospital. I would like to say thankyou one and all for all the care you took and gave my mother all the time mum stayed with you. I cannot thankyou all enough.

Dear relative

Thank you so much for taking the time to post your story on the website. I was very pleased to see your mother was met with such caring treatment throughout the whole of her hospital stay. It must have been a very worrying time for you all and its reallly good to see you were kept in the loop, and that she received such good care, at all times.

I will ensure your story is shared with all the relevant ward and service managers, as postitive feedback is always welcomed.

I hope your mother is now making a good recovery and wish her well for the future.

Many thanks
