"Thank you whatcombe"

The hospital saved my life. I was unwilling to go I wanted to die. I was sent there under a section and placed on the PICU. I was very distressed when I arrived and ended up in restraints by staff. However the nursing staff and support workers helped me settle. The same can't be said for the doctor at the time but the doctor has now left and the new doctor who arrived managed my illness very well and got me moved promptly from the PICU and into an acute unit with less restrictions as I struggle with boundaries. The hospital is non smoking which caused me great distress and on occasion I was driven to having ciggs sneaked in and I smoked in the shower which I know wasn't good but it had to be done to keep me from getting more anxious. Before admission I was attempting on my life every day and now since being discharged I haven't self harmed in any way for nearly 5 months and am now living alone in my own flat. The hospital has flaws but so do most, and if it wasn't for the team at Whatcombe I wouldn't be here today. They even facilitated my family coming to see me from 300 miles away. They helped fund the trips which my family would not have been able to make without that help. The food was pretty bad like I wouldn't feed that rubbish to my dog but it was a small price to pay for life saving treatment thank you Whatcombe hall for giving me my life back.
