I am a young person with loads of health problems. I have a life limited condition which is rare. I have got a new problem which isn't related to my condition. Been waiting for this appointment for 3 months so I was quite nervous about it when it came round to my appointment. I don't usually have any problems but lately since attending a and e at beginning of year and this appointment has put me off. The doctor was nice but it was the nurse who attended the appointment I had a problem with. I suffer with a symptom/problem which I've had for 4 years and has got worse since this new problem has happened. To me its very personal and I found it very very embarrassing to mention or talk about as is symptom shouldn't be happening at my age but I have no control over it. So I thought it was right to mention it in case it was linked to my new problem... as i mentioned it to the doctor the nurse in the room obviously found it funny and giggled and then giggled again when I mentioned something else. I felt quite distressed as I don't like talking about it, and at the time I didn't have a relative for support so I attended on my own to the appointment,, i didn't want to mention to mention it but thought I had to just in case it was linked but now i regret saying it as the nurse clearly found it funny.. which I did not. I didn't laugh about it .. so why did the nurse have to, especially something so personal. It wasn't like I laughed at it or joked about it. I feel like I have lost trust in my own local hospital.
