"Lack of empathy"

About: Royal Sussex County Hospital / Accident and emergency

(as a service user),

I went to A & E as I seriously thought I was a risk, flash backs and suicidal thoughts that were so strong I thought I'd act on them. I'd never had racing thoughts like this and couldn't stop talking, very unusual for me. Also my blood pressure was high, again unusual for me.

The general nurse treated me with respect. Then I was moved to another area, the Consultant was abrupt, asking me, who's the prime minister! ?  No risk assessment, then a doctor snapped have I been drinking?  I said no but I'd just used the alcohol hand cleaner. They said I needed to leave and had called security.

My arm had a gaping wound from self harm, so as I was behind a curtain I asked for help. I said hello, hello a few times, not loudly or aggressively to see if I could get it dressed. I heard a nurse say in a taunting manner, goodbye, goodbye and heard the doctor laugh with him. He did then dress my arm ok.
