About: Manor Hospital

(as the patient),

What I liked

Surgeons Doctors where marvelouse no foults that i could find

What could be improved

where do i start? blood pressure machines 4 for the 4 wards only one working, no theater Gowns, no spare pillows, seating that your feet cant reach the floor and expected to sit on for many hours a day.

drug cabinets left open whilst on phone to friends for over 40 mins, no one in room to look after and left in front of a elderly man who's mind was not all their. machines bleeping over an hour because drips run out, no one changing them some days we had 4 going for well over half hour a time. also when drips being changed they get phone call from friends and go of forgetting to put drips back on only to be found by night sister being left by bed full of old blood and put on a commode still loosing blood, terrible smell for over an hour one time Cafita not draining being told to relax for a day and a half, till a nurse listens to me and checked out found only water coming out after me holding my stomach and pressing down so hard and so much pain from day of surgery it took me day and a half till the nurse tried to flush. got me a doctor who saw it and got them to remove cafita after all the pressing down on night my stomach started to bleed as i had burst blood vessels lost approx 3 pints blood in 36 hours i feel i am only here because of the marvelous Doctors who worked on me every half hour. i did not think i was going to make it through the night but thanks to doctors and blood transfusions next day felt much better, but still loosing little blood. some of the senior nurses treated us so badly and talked down to us sarcastic not careing of an evening patents had pressed buzzers for help but no one came but you could here them chatting with friends who came to visit of an evening talking about weddings cloths and family life and just ignored the patents needing help they would come round then very late waking people up asking if they wanted anything instead of leaving people who where fast asleep sevral times we had to call out for nurses when patents where not well to g

Anything else?

Nurses should where name badges so the bad ones could be reported but we all agreed thats why they where not wearing. the young training nurses where very good same as apprentices they had a very good careing nature and will be such a shame for them to start to follow the bad ones who seem to tell them how they should be trying to get water bottles was difficult. if you did not get enough before trainey nurses went home and many times they did not put on list that you had past water just empty containers. Thursday i refused to stay any more it has been the worst experience of my like, but was able then to get the Morphine i had been asking for since the Monday as i have two hips gone only the very last night did they finally put it down on the list for me it seemed most things where too much trouble. my niece is supposed to be coming for gastric Bypass i have begged her not to go to this hospital i don't want her to suffer as i have so badly. I am supposed to be going to have a new hip as soon as i am well enough after this i don't think i could ever go into another Hospital again i have been proud to brag all over the world about how good British hospitals are i will not be saying it again I genuinely would rather try and cope with severe pain than ever risk another experience in Hospital If ever i got ill again i would hope i would not make it to hospital my fear is so great i dont think i could trust one again When i am a little better i want to go to papers to tell them my story everyone should be made aware and be warned i wish i had been
