I have a 3 year old daughter with Down's Syndrome, hearing impairment and delayed communication. Research has shown that early intervention is essential to ensure maximum development. However it saddens & maddens me in equal measure that this is not provided in NHS A&A. Her allocated SaLT is unable to provide 1: 1 sessions & the weekly group sessions that my daughter attended has now stopped without any indication as to when this will restart. This is service that is severely lacking in this health board. My daughter is already behind with her development and her lack of early intervention from SaLT is widening this gap. There have been SaLTs left post and these have never been replaced. What provisions will you provide if not 1: 1 or group sessions? ? ? ? ?
"Inadequate SaLT provision"
