"Vascular clinic"

About: Northern General Hospital / Vascular surgery

I was referred to this clinic by a plastic surgeon as I had an injury that would not heal well. After receiving excellent treatment from the dressing clinic I was disappointed with the haphazard treatment in the vascular clinic. My first appt involved me being left on a bed for 25 minutes as the specialist nurse got called away and forgot about me. They did apologise,however they kept getting called away so it was difficult to have any meaningful conversation. The 2nd appt there was even more unprofessional. The other specialist nurse was fairly abrupt and spent approx 5 minutes wirh me. They said I needed to see the vascular consultant as a scan had revealed blocked veins. I asked about any after care as I had been discharged from the dressings clinic. They said you wont be coming here because Im referring you to the surgeon and gave me a leaflet explaining the procedure. I had several questions I wanted answers to but they did not seem interested. After waiting 2 months to see the surgeon ( after my original appt was cancelled at short notice) the clinic had lost/ mislaid my medical notes. As I was waiting in a room to see them I could hear them clearly telling the nurse " Im not seeing her without any notes" I was fairly fed up about my overall treatment by then. After the nurse had popped back in the room to question why I was there ,they eventually came to see me. I think I spent 5 minutes in total with them which was very disappointing as I did not feel at ease with them standing over me. I hope I do not have to see anyone in this clinic again
