My Father passed away at home on the 22.10.16. As he died of Asbestos related lung cancer and this is classed as an industrial injury he had to be taken to the CIC until the Monday for the Coroner to decide what to do with him. My mother lives in Penrith and was quite upset by this. We contacted the Hospital and they were very helpful, arranging for my Mum. Sister and me to come and see my father in the viewing area of the Mortuary at 1400hrs that same day. On arrival at the CIC we were met by the Mortuary Technician, they were really nice and pleasant and had a great way with her. They clearly introduced them self and took us down to see my father in the Mortuary. Once there they gave us time to compose ourselves, left us with him and didn't rush us at all. They also asked if my Mum wanted time with my dad by herself, which she did. Again, they didn't rush my Mum at all. This helped settle my Mum, who felt like she hadn't had chance to say goodbye with all the rushing about that morning. When we came out the Technician asked if there was anything else they could do. In short, they were really great and helped us with what was a very difficult time with us. Thank you so very much.
