Hi, I am an Australian expat. who suffers with Bipolar disorder. I ran out of my anti- depressants, and presented for a script. I had presented 2 weeks previously, for the same script and received reasonable service, though still waited 5 hours... Today however, having registered with the NHS, my local GP refused to provide the script, citing some inane excuse. Back to St. Peter's ED. Today however I encountered an ED Senior Registrar who was in every way unhelpful. Refused to write a script as I had 4 days left. Suggested that after already waiting almost 2.5hours, that I corme back Monday and wait again, closer to my supply expiry. I elected to see Psychiatry Liaison. After waiting, they arrived, were very nice and agreed the script needed to be written. Psych Liaison advised the Senior Registrar was checking with the Consultant. This Senior Registrar however then left without writing the script and without communicating its need to be written. Appalled, after waiting more time, I asked the nurse what was going on, and they had no idea. After speaking to them the nurse arranged it and the script was promptly written. Needless to say, when I wasn't feeling very well as it was. Treatment by an arrogant, patrionizing MO certainly did not help...
"Waited 6hours for my Prescription!"
