"amazing staff and care!"

About: Nottingham University Hospitals NHS Trust - Queen's Medical Centre Campus / Maternity care

(as the patient),

I was admitted to the induction suite recently and was looked after by the very lovely Sophie, who was a great support and really put me at ease in my stay there. I was then taken to the labour suite on Monday evening as my contractions had started. From start to finish every member of staff we met were absolutely amazing, so professional, caring and went above and beyond to make sure myself, my son and my husband were well looked after. The level of care was outstanding that we all received. My midwife Liz made sure that I had everything I needed and that my son was being monitored constantly as he became a little distressed during contractions and his heart rate started to drop. She contacted the doctors straight away and the doctors were there within minutes. The anaesthetist on the night shift on the Monday evening was so great, as I needed an epidural administered and he was so brilliant and professional in his manner, not to mention so friendly! He even came back the next morning to meet our little man and to see how we were doing. Apologies my knowledge of names is a little sketchy! The two female doctors who dealt with me during labour and delivery were outstanding, again so professional and caring and only wanted the best for me and my little man! I really cannot thank all the staff on the labour suite enough for looking after us all with such a high level of care and professionalism. Thank you.

Congratulations on the birth of your son!

Your feedback is great to read, it sounds like a real team effort and I’ll make sure this is shared with all staff.

Best wishes to you, your son and family.

Gemma Herbert,

QMC Maternity Matron.
