"Great maternity care"

About: Aberdeen Maternity Hospital / Obstetrics (Maternity care)

(as the patient),

I was a patient at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital 4 weeks ago when I gave birth to my daughter. Having heard about the staff shortages and closure of the midwife led unit I was really worried about the experience I was going to have.

All I can say is Amazing! ! I had a great experience. All the staff were absolutely fantastic, the midwife Jamie who delivered my baby was wonderful. I keep telling everyone how calm and straight forward my birth was and I truly believe that it was because of her.

I also wanted to mention how amazing the midwife students were, they are a real credit to Robert Gordon university.

Dear cwilson92,

Thanks for sharing your story on Care Opinion. I’m sorry it has taken us such a long time to reply – we were changing the way we responded to our Care Opinion posts at that time and your story had been missed. I will make sure that it is forwarded to the team at Aberdeen Maternity Hospital and also to the RGU student midwives.

Feedback from patients really does mean a lot to our staff and Jamie will appreciate the mention for helping with the calm and straight forward delivery of your daughter.

I hope you are both keeping well.

Best wishes,

Kirsten
