"Very positive experience"

About: Fitzwilliam Hospital

After many years and previous operations in various hospitals, I found myself being admitted for Spinal Decompression and Bone Graft, I have been an out patient at Fitzwilliam for over 2 years, it was attempted to relieve my pain with Epidural injection, I did benefit from these however it was agreed that the best way forward for myself would be surgical intervention. I arrived on the morning of my surgery feeling very apprehensive about my operation within the first hour of my arrival I had been seen by the nurse, my surgeon, the ward sister.Who all spent a little time with me and were able to Calm me down my surgery went as expected, my Surgeon I saw daily while there. Always ready to answer any questions I may have. Nursing staff were very attentive again always being able to answer any questions, more than anything I had every confidence in both Doctors and Nurses who ever I saw filled me with confidence, the ward Hostess was very pleasant hand helpful. I was seen by physio while I was there, they gave me leaflets to take away on my discharge as well as showing me the exercises that I should be doing to aid my recovery, I can't honestly think of anything at all for me to say improvements are needed. From cleanliness to administration the efficiency in my opinion was first class, the absolute fullness of my care was second to none. Meals were served hot and very tasty, all staff were pleasant and polite and very professional at all times, I have a history with Fitzwilliam and must say this review also covers any out patient appointments I have had in all of my appointments I can only recall one occasion where the clinic was running late I was fully informed about the delay, it was due to an emergency which had happened within. The hospital so when I look back on my experience so far with Fitzwilliam it has been a positive one long may it continue I still have out patient appointments as well as physio to attend. I feel that the NHS could learn quite a lot from Fitzwilliam. Thanks for giving me this opportunity to say what I feel about Fitzwilliam Hospital
