Was referred to A&E by Medocc directly, to be seen by the Orthopaedic team ASAP. Took 10hrs to be assessed by an Orthopaedic Registrar as there was only one "on call" for the whole hospital. Decision to admit me was finally made at 12am. Having been told to remain "nil by mouth" for previous 12hrs, trying to cannulate me was proving very difficult due to dehydration. Finally got a bed on Arethusa Ward at 3:45 am (next day) From here onwards I spent the next 8 days and was treated very well. Staff were absolutely fantastic and very supportive, I was in alot of pain and could barely walk as my legs kept giving way due to damage to my spine. Couldn't praise Arethusa Ward more.......Thank you all.
