"mrsa after heart operation."

About: Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh at Little France / Cardiothoracic Surgery

(as a relative),

I was discharged from edinburgh with mrsa. had to be readmitted for a wound vac stayed in for 5 weeks. home for 3 weeks with vac in. went back got it out a month later readmitted to the victoria hospital in kirkcaldy with sepsis mss which came from edinburgh royal. I have heard that lots of your patients end up with mrsa. it has now left me with oestomylitis in my sternum. waiting to go for an mri scan in november to see if it had spread. I will need a bone scraping if it has, but if edinburgh royal doesn't clean its self up I wont be going back there.

Dear bruarbracken

I am so sorry to hear about your experiences when you were admitted to the Royal Infirmary of Edinburgh. It does not sound as though things went as they should have and I would like to look into this for you. I would be grateful if you could please contact the Patient Experience Team:

Email: feedback@nhslothian.scot.nhs.uk

Telephone: 0131 536 3370

Post: 2 - 4 Waterloo Place, Edinburgh, EH1 3EG

In the meantime, I have shared your feedback with my colleagues at the Royal Infirmary and the Infection Control Team.

Kind regards

Jeannette
