"Endoscopy"

Amazing! A strange word to use for a procedure that puts the fear of god into me, but if you are required to have this procedure then choose Boston West. I had already had this procedure, which was carried out at another hospital and was not a good experience for me.

So I was fearful when, after a number of years I was advised I needed to have it again. I was adamant I wasn't going to. After much persuasion from my family, I agreed. It was so completely different from that of my previous experience that I told my family I would have it again if ever necessary. Boston West is a lovely small and very clean hospital, which is immediately apparent when you step through the doors. All the staff are friendly and caring. You are kept informed at all times which is such an advantage when you are feeling anxious. After being sedated, although awake and aware of what was happening around me, I was in no discomfort whilst the procedure was carried out. The following day I received a telephone call from the hospital checking to see all was well. I have never had that before.

I cannot fault this hospital with the caring and compassionate staff and their "after care" service too. That's why I use the word "amazing." You just do not get this high level of service anymore. Boston West could do with teaching other organizations how it should be done, that you are a person with feelings not a just a number. Many thanks to all at Boston West and keep up the good work.
