My very elderly parents recently both needed this service to avoid a longer term hospital admission following overnight falls. The District Nursing Team were superb - professional, skilled, kind and caring. They reflect everything that is so fantastic about the British NHS care. As a result of their care and dedication my parents were able to remain in their own home and make a happy and speedy recovery and avoid becoming a burden on the hospital by blocking beds. The DNs came every morning and evening and cheerfully treated their wounds, supervised their medication, helped them get up and dressed, regain their mobility and then came back in the evening to safely get them back to bed. After this process they were able to regain their strength, confidence and independence and carry on living independently at home aged 93 and 85. Thank you to everyone involved and all the hospital staff who dealt with the emergency on the day of their very serious overnight fall. But particular thanks to the 2 DNs I met who were both so skilled and so kind to my parents and our family - a real credit and fantastic ambassadors for the Hospital and the DN Team - we can't thank you enough.
