"My papa's time in hospital"

About: University Hospital Wishaw

(as a relative),

My papa was in hospital in wishaw general for 2 weeks and within these two weeks his blood was wrongly labelled with another patients name which was sorted by the blood bank.

He was also isolated into his own room due to the nurses assumptions that he had MRSA years ago when he was never treated for it and we were never aware that he had it. Then when he was in ward 4, it was noted on his record that he had a CT scan which AGAIN was wrongly logged on his notes, the nurses were asked about this and their reply was that there was another person withthe same name in this ward.

This seems to be the excuse they've use for everything that has went wrong. This isn't a complaint but it's something that should be taken more carefully.

Dear Dannika,

Many thanks for taking the time to post feedback on your Papas experience.

I was concerned to read of the clinical incidents that you have reported and in the first instance would like to apologise for this.

In order that I may investigate these and provide you with a targeted response I would be grateful if you could contact Yvonne Ross, Patient Affairs manager on 01698366558 or alternatively by e mail at Yvonne.ross@Lanarkshire.scot.nhs.uk

Best wishes

Andy
