"One night stay on antenatal ward"

About: Barnsley Hospital / Maternity care

33 weeks pregnant and Just spent one night in the antenatal ward being treated for a kidney infection, from the moment I got to the triage ward the care that I recieved was exemplary. Both my unborn baby and I received a through assessment and and treatment was started before any of my results were even back. Once admitted I was moved to the ward which was very clean and filled with friendly and attentive staff. Had a good nights sleep and was regularly monitored through the night. The day after I was seen by 3 different doctors, including a consultant and they looked into my past history and covered all possible reasons for my illness. I was told I could be discharged and will be followed up as an outpatient. The midwives who looked after me were amazing, excellent at their jobs, very knowledgable and happy to explain everything they were doing for me. Although they were very busy they made me feel as though I was the only patient they were looking after. Well done BDGH I am really looking forward to coming back when I give birth!!
