I'm 40 weeks pregnant and have had just bad experiences at Uclh maternity. The midwives are cold, unhelpful and disorganised. I've had worries due to imprecise measurements been taken as to the size of my child... They even say it shrunk from one meeting to the next and gave no explanation. I had a scan which clarified things and everything was fine. One doctor during a scan said that my boobs got in the way... Then mentioned that my baby was drinking blood since its bowels showed up clear. Having pushed for a second scan and oppinion they said all was fine and it was the scanner which was old and broken. The midwives have not been clear or precise or helpful with me in deciding when I should book a caesarian which unfortunately I had to have. Getting in contact with anybody is a nightmare, the Bagan clinic ( apparently the main midwives center) gave me an email address to send them news and it doesn't work. Then try calling to change an appointment, ha a joke. I think just the worst thing is you rarely meet a caring and warm midwife who'll listen and give good advice. Unfortunately I can't change my birthing plan now too late but am really apprehensive about giving birth in this hospital.
