"Two Week Fast Track Scheme - Outpatient..."

About: Milton Keynes Hospital / Gynaecology

Saw Doctor on Monday afternoon, was phoned on Tuesday with cancellation appointment on Wednesday morning.

Escorted from reception to treatment room by friendly nurse who apologised for short wait. Greeted by approachable and empathetic Hysteroscopist who noted relevant history and put me at ease. I was talked through the procedure and warned of possible complications/risks and what would happen afterwards. If you have had smear tests this was largely the same and only had one moment of acute discomfort when sample of uterus was removed, but I was warned about this and it was over very quickly. Dignity was maintained throughout (as far as this procedure will allow:-). Was informed that everything looked normal and letter would be sent after biopsy had been tested.

Had to leave message in the afternoon as another appointment for scan had come through and Hysteroscopist soon rang back to confirm that I could cancel this as the hysteroscopy and biopsy was the more advanced step. Would recommend anyone in the same position shouldn't hesitate in having the procedure to hopefully rule out serious conditions.
