"a great staff nurse in accident and emergency"

About: William Harvey Hospital (Ashford) / Accident and emergency

(as a relative),

My mum was taken in with a suspected PE and chest infection. She had a male staff nurse he was from Portugal his name was either Jose or Joel, he really took the time to care for my mum, and made her laugh and smile. He was a truly exceptional level of care and you should be proud to have him as part of your team. accident and emergency was very busy that Thursday, and all the staff did their best considering the amount of bed blocking there was and trolleys and beds everywhere. I wish that more staff could be hired though because more people will need this a&e now that other ones in the area have closed.

Thank you very much for taking the time to let us know about the wonderful level of care the male nurse provided to your mother.

The warmth of a smile and gentle good humour really does help when patients are in hospital as it helps them relax a little.

We are immensely pleased and proud to have recruited nursing staff from Europe who have joined our hard working nursing teams across the Trust.

I hope your mother is beginning to feel a great deal better.
