"Unsympathetic treatment by my doctor"

I have been disabled for nearly 20 years now, having been slotted in the "unresolved" category. Since then two things have happened to me:

1: I have been prone to bouts of depression, stressing me out, and

2: I have gained weight.

I am an intelligent man who realises these things have happened to me and that they are not good for my health overall. As a result of all this I have been told I might have asthma.

Yesterday I went to the doctor's, tired, breathless and with a cough that has been keeping me up nights. My doctors attitude was one of "look at you, you're overweight" in a voice not dissimilar to that of a teacher telling his pupil off. Totally unsympathetic to the fact that I looked worn out, was coughing still and breathing was not good.

Any examination of chest, (none), any breath strength test (none)? I told him I was on inhalers and nasal spray, but he paid no attention saying that they did not resolve the situation that I was fat (he used the words 'too heavy'.

He is sending me back to a hospital where they tested my chest some two years back. The end result was I left feeling seriously depressed and with no incentive to help myself whatsoever.

When I asked HOW I should lose all this weight, he said he "didn't know" - no "go to a clinic, or the local practice nurse" who was on duty there there on the premises that day. Yes! I HAVE dieted, eaten less, stopped drinking, attempted mild exercising (limited because of my disablility), but none of this has helped to reduce weight.

Even when I told him this, he just shook his head and said he didnt know what else he could do. I am so depressed now I don't know what else to do.
