"Being let down for over a year!"

About: The Bradgate Mental Health Unit

I have been attending the clinic for a number of years but last year my dr was moved to a different department. I was told I would be assigned to another dr at the same clinic and that the appointment would come in the post iwaited for approximately six weeks and rang up up several times only to be told that it was being sorted out. Eventually after months of explaining I was really struggling with issues I was actually giving a name of the doctor I would see. Again waiting for the actual appointment I have been waiting months so rang again and again. I eventually got a call from a secretary from another clinic to say that I had to attend there instead. I explained my circumstances that the clinic was the other side of town and I lived just across from the bradgate unit and had attended there for years. After another series of phone calls they contacted the secretary at the bradgate unit who said they would have a word with the doctor to see if the doctor could see me. I am still waiting to hear and it is now approaching a year. I have been struggling very badly with no back up and have had to attend hospital because of the symptoms which got particularly bad one day. But are ongoing to the point I'm seriously worried about my health and life.

Thank you for taking the time to comment on the issues you are experiencing regarding your consultant moving to another location and your request to keep your outpatient appointments in the same location.

I am very sorry to hear that there has been a delay in your request being resolved and a further delay in someone contacting you about this.

If you would like to contact the Patient Advice and Liaison Service (PALS) then we will be happy to look into this further for you.

You can either email PALS at pals@leicspart.nhs.uk or telephone PALS on (0116) 2950830.
