"My first chemo session."

About: Halton Hospital / Clinical haematology

I attended the PIU in Halton Hospital today for my first session of chemo having been diagnosed 30th Sept 2016 with Non Hodgkins Lymphoma Mantle Cell Stage 3-4A. I attended at 9 am with a lot of trepidation and fear. I'm a big lad but the fear of this dreaded condition and the unknown when you've no involvement in the past with either friends or family can be very daunting. I needn't have worried. The staff were exceptional. I have never been anywhere exuding so much positivity, warmth and friendliness. The care level is amazing and the support shown invaluable. Every step of my treatment was explained in detail and so much time was shown to my individual case with every accommodation being met to make my day long stay as comfortable as possible. The patients there were exactly the same, some of them at the end of their treatment and anxious to share their high opinion of the staff team. I cannot praise them enough. Any fears I had have been allayed and I will have no worries about attending my next appointment and look forward to seeing them all again. These are amazing people.

5 stars is nothing like enough.
