From the time I was seen in A&E (other than the receptionist who never smiled or made eye contact, flicked my letter back to me an told me to sit and wait. Definitely needs training on how to treat patients) my experience was faultless.
From the nurses in triage who were run off their feet to the doctors on duty I was treated with efficiency and good humour.
Despite my long wait for a bed, 11 hours, I never felt abandoned or neglected.
I had a CT scan and the excellent radiologist explained exactly how I would feel when the dye was injected into my body, if they hadn't it would have been quite scary. The nurses, catering staff and cleaning staff in Damson ward were caring and cheerful at all times and the doctors were friendly and always explained exactly what was happening. After surgery I was well cared for and my discharge was without problems.
"Full marks"
