"Accesibility of podiatry service"

About: Bolton NHS Foundation Trust

(as a parent/guardian),

My teenage child needs a recurring appointment for ingrown toenails.

In my experience, the accessibility of the podiatry appointments for children at school is appalling for what is a common teenage problem and is planned treatment.

There are no out of school hours appointments for podiatry whatsoever. The latest appointment at most sites is 4pm, too early for children travelling home from school, and the earliest appointments are at 9am, too late for children travelling to school. There are no evening or weekend appointments at all. In my opinion, children should not have to miss important school work to attend such routine appointments. This service seems to be designed around the work/life balance needs of staff, not patients
