"EXCELLENT CARE."

About: Milton Keynes Hospital / Accident and emergency

On Sunday 11th of September, I had a nasty fall, resulting in a broken nose, fractured collar bone, and a badly dislocated shoulder. On arrival at

A&E, I was taken straight through for treatment. Once diagnosed, I was given appropriate painkillers. orally, and IV. Unfortunately, they did not work. n view of the fact that my BP, temperature, and pain levels were extremely high, the decision was made to take me to resusc for a sedative and reduction of the dislocation. Unfortunately, the sedative did not work either. I was reluctant to go to surgery for a general anaesthetic, so five members of staff reset the shoulder for me. It was extremely painful and traumatic, but that was my choice, the team carefully monitored me and cared for me throughout. All I can do is say a big thank you to the staff on duty that afternoon, and hope that we in MK keep our A&E, and point out to the Health Secretary that he is total wrong about the lack of weekend care in the NHS.
