"Minor injuries unit"

About: Chippenham Community Hospital

Attended on a Sunday morning and it was quite quiet. However, the reception and receptionist was far from good. All the receptionist was interested in was whether I had booked my car in! I then had to shout through the thick glass screen what the issue was so that everybody around me could hear!

Good job it wasn't a sensitive issue?? This is a horrible and outdated piece of kit and does nothing for patient confidentiality. Just look at today's report on doctors receptionist? Was told to go to nurse station to be assessed. As I had an infected insect bite, I was assessed for about 5 mins and then told to go and wait in the waiting room. About an hours wait I was told. Two hours later, I was called only for the same nurse to do just about the same exam as first off and then to be given antibiotics! So wasted two hours of time when they could have seen this first off and just get me some anti-bs? Really hacked off with very poor organisation and service. Had misfortune to revisit following week with neighbour who hurt her ankle. Again terrible reception procedure and very slow attendance. All staff interested in was...you guessed it, was my car booked in? I have been in public service all my career, including inspecting police force performance and this was one of worst cars/departments I have visited. Needs some serious work I feel?
