"Concern over Urology treatment at Royal Hallamshire Hospital"

About: Royal Hallamshire Hospital / Urology

(as the patient),

I was treated at the Royal Hallamshire Hospital, on the urology, ward H2 for cancer of the bladder. Most of the staff were helpful after the operation and did not embarrass me. I am attending the clinic for B.C.G (Bacillus Calmette Guerin) therapy and the nurses are very good and helpful.

I felt that it would have been better if the bladder had been cleaned out properly and not rushed, especially when you cannot hold your urine after the removal of a catheter. I was angry at not being readmitted when I was in agonising pain and losing blood through my penis, two days after the second operation for two more cancers being cut out. But a bed was found in the same ward after the Northern General Hospital sent me to the Hallamshire Hospital.

I have had, and still have, a very painful experience because I still have no sleep, due to having to go the toilet every hour and passing scalding urine and pain through constipation. This has been going on for months and there is still no remedy. I sometimes feel like ending it all and get depressed.

However, I would like to thank the doctor that gave me Morphine to relieve me of agonising pain when losing blood and scalding pain passing urine and hot wind from my back passage and constipated.
