After getting induced on ward M2 I have been put off having another baby. The night staff are terrible. I asked them kindly to check me as I was in absolute agony and couldn't put up with the pain anymore only to be told they are busy seeing to other people who was more urgent (This was as they was sat in the office chatting) I then asked them if I could have some pain relief and got told no as I had already had two paracetamol and to lie down. The pain was that bad I was being sick. They then went to check a lady across the ward from me and I heard the midwife tell her she is 3cm and will take her down to the birthing unit as she was screaming in pain, When they then finally decided to bother with me I was over 6cm dilated and told there was no room for me in delivery.I was begging for pain relief and all they could offer me was gas and air. My baby was in distress at this stage. By the time they got me into delivery I was 9cm mine and my baby's heart beats were slowing down. It was also to late for pain relief and had to have a episiotomy with only gas and air! The bed was broke which I gave birth on and my husband had to hold up my leg as I was getting stitched up. To be fair the midwife on the birthing unit was amazing with what they had to deal with and also postnatal. I have been left traumatised by the experience I never complain but feel the way I was treated on M2 was bad. The night staff on this ward need retraining
