My mother has been committed to St. Ann's numerous times. I find the environment, atmosphere and level of care at this place to be seriously appalling and depressing. The most upsetting experience was last year my mother was committed here, but was released too early, I feel they release patients as quickly as they can even if the patient isn't ready, so they can try and free up beds again, as they are often full. After she was released, she was still clearly unwell and made some bad decisions, which has left her more anxious and more depressed than I've ever known her to be, those bad decision have also left her with a lot of financial worries now too. I feel genuinely let down by this place. I feel these could have been avoided with the right support and care. The NHS and st Ann's is a complete joke, the government needs to do more to help provide support for mentally unwell people. Not enough is being done.
