"Visit to out of hours GP in the MIU"

About: Gosport War Memorial Hospital

I went down to the hospital yesterday to get some advice and treatment for an infected sebaceous cyst which is due to be operated on Thursday. I did not realise that I needed to phone 111 first and gain an appointment. I was very upset and distressed as the cyst is on my cheek and looked unsightly as well as being very painful but the person on the reception was fantastic. They allowed me to sit in a side room to phone 111 to register for an appointment and when I had told me to stay in there until it came through on their system which was about 10 minutes later at which point they informed me that my appointment was at 2pm. As it was in 3 hours time I did return home but on my return again, they dealt with me showing the greatest care and consideration towards me, allowing me to sit in the side room again away from any further infection and also so I wasn't stared at. They updated me as to how long I would be waiting and once I had seen the doctor and got prescribed more antibiotics, I went home feeling a lot better. They were a lovely person and they be congratulated for their manner and their care. Thank you.
