"Exemplary Care at Good Hope A & E"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Accident & emergency

(as the patient),

I would like to commend all the staff at the Good Hope Hospital A & E Department and the AMU unit where I was subsequently transferred, particularly the Consultant Mr Ahmed Ismail, the staff nurse Darryl Stewart and Mr Haque at the AMU as well as all the nursing staff involved in my treatment.

I had reason to visit A & E recently with a severe allergic reaction. The care and treatment that I received from the moment that I arrived was second to none and a great credit to the Good Hope Hospital and the NHS generally. The level of care and attention received whilst undergoing quite a traumatic experience was exceptional and I cannot thank the staff enough. I was made to feel at ease throughout at A & E whilst being advised of the action and steps that the staff were taking to treat my condition and we even managed a few laughs in between. Fortunately, as a result of their prompt actions I am now fully recovered.

I am indebted to you all and cannot thank you enough.

Thank you for your kind comments regarding the care and treatment you received at Good Hope Hospital's Accident and Emergency Department, and the Acute Medical Unit (AMU).

I'm sure it must have been very scary to have a severe allergic reaction and I am so pleased to read that the care you received from the moment you arrived was first class throughout, and as a result of the staff's prompt actions you are now fully recovered.

I will be delighted to ensure that your feedback is highlighted to the Emergency Department and Acute Medicine Matrons, as well as the Clinical Lead for Good Hope Emergency Services and AMU, who will communicate your feedback and thanks to all of their respective teams.
