"Gestational Diabetes Care"

About: Gilbert Bain Hospital / Maternity

(as the patient),

Just wanted to highlight the excellent care and support I recieved from Dr Wilson and the Diabetes Nurse during my pregnancy. I developed gestational diabetes and had a really difficult time. The staff at the hospital, particularly the two mentioned, went above and beyond to ensure that I had maintained my pregnancy and delivered a healthy baby girl. I owe them a great deal.

Quite often, we can be quick to judge when services dont perform as we feel they ought to but dont take the time to thank them. So I would like to say a huge thank you.

On behalf of the diabetes and midwifery team, I would just like to thank you for taking the time to provide feedback about your experience.

It is good to know that we are delivering really good support to women with diabetes during pregnancy and that both you and your daughter are doing well. We will make sure this feedback is shared with staff.

Best wishes

Kathleen Carolan, Director of Nursing & Acute Services, NHS Shetland
