About: Leicester General Hospital / Maternity

(as a relative),

My wife had a planned c-section for our 3rd child with high risk attached. We were prepared for this at each appointment and everything was explained - I'm so glad it was. In the event, my wife lost a great deal of blood and our son was born with unexpected breathing difficulties. Both would almost certainly have died without the support and professionalism of your teams. I'm so grateful and can't really thank you all enough. As a father I was treated with real kindness, especially by the neo natal staff looking after our baby in those few days after his birth. I don't think we could have expected any more from a maternity unit and wouldn't hesitate to recommend it. Two months on and I'm pleased to say both are doing just fine.

Dear 'Grateful Dad', firstly many congratulations on the arrival of your son and secondly thank you for taking the time to leave such a positive review for Maternity at Leicester General Hospital.

We are delighted to hear that throughout your wife's pregnancy you were both kept well advised and whilst at the time of his birth, things obviously did not quite go to plan, everything was handled professionally and you were given the necessary support and care.

Your comments will be forwarded to all of the teams involved.

Obviously we are pleased to hear also that both are doing well now - a busy Christmas ahead 'me thinks....'.

Congratulations again and thank you.

Best wishes, Communications Team, Leicester's Hospitals.
