"Endoscopy Procedure - varices banded."

About: Darlington Memorial Hospital

I arrived feeling scared and very nervous having had a recent horrific experience of this procedure at a different hospital. How different today at this hospital. The sister, who took my details, was sympathetic, kind, gentle and reassuring. The doctor and nurses, who carried out the procedure, were likewise kind and gentle and helped and supported me in every way possible, guiding me through the procedure. I felt safe and secure. The sedation covered the whole of the procedure and I knew nothing about it. Unlike my last unpleasant experience, when I was in discomfort and unwell for around two weeks, this time I have been absolutely fine. What I do feel is grateful and thankful for the care and treatment I received.
