I initially contacted 111 about my swollen face. They requested I get to hospital within the hour.
My partner and I travelled to Chelsea and Westminster hospital where I was seen by a triage nurse within an hour. I was then sent to the Major area and instead of being seated on the green seats, I was shuffled into a waiting room by the porter who also had my notes. After about half an hour, I stood by the door of the waiting room waiting for acknowledgement. Eventually one of the admin nurses acknowledged me, but couldn't find my notes.
I stood for another hour and a half waiting to be seen by a doctor, but nothing. Other patients were being seen by the doctors before me. I understand fully that priority is given to more serious cases, but I left it long enough before becoming disgruntled with the staff system.
I also have anxiety and depression. If I didn't feel like killing myself before going in, I sure did afterwards. Thanks for nothing Chelsea and Westminster Hospital.
I left the hospital very distressed. When I woke in the morning, I visited St George's Hospital. Hooray! I was in the best hands possible. Thank you St. George's xx
