"Amazing newly qualified nurses on c22"

About: Royal Blackburn Hospital / Urology

I am currently a patient on c22, and I have been here for a few days now. I've been on a couple of wards in the past week or so and I'm now on c22 but as a surgical patient. I have been cared for by a number of different nurses and health care assistants during my stay but I have to write this review which is particularly aimed at two of the newly qualified staff nurses which have started working on the ward. They are absolutely amazing. They gave me confidence from day one that they knew what they were doing, they were an advocate for me and fought my corner when I had some issues with my team of doctors. They were very caring, empathetic and supportive to me. I felt the need to write this review because I know that it must be a huge step to go from a student nurse to a newly qualified staff nurse and they are genuinely an absolute credit to the NHS. They are under huge pressures and have stepped up and are fantastic at their jobs! Massive Thankyou to both of you. You are fantastic!

Response from Royal Blackburn Hospital

Thank you so much for your comments regarding your stay on Ward C22 at the Royal Blackburn Hospital and thank you for taking the time to do so.

It is lovely to receive such positive feedback regarding the care and treatment you received and in particular from two newly qualified nurses working on the ward.

I will ensure your comments are passed onto the staff who will be delighted to receive such wonderful feedback as they always strive to deliver safe, personal & effective care.

If you would like to provide us with further information about your admission so we can understand the bits of the experience that made this so positive we would really value this so that we can try to make it like this for every patient visiting our hospitals and using our services.

You can either contact me (Melissa Almond) on 01254 734087 or by email at patientexperience@elht.nhs.uk.

Thank you again for commenting and best wishes.
