Main nurse in charge never came to introduce themselves to me. Cold, unfriendly and uncaring. I complained about being cold being under air con vents. they said they could not do anything about it. I was subsequently sick with flue and chesty cough for 2 weeks. They could have moved my bed.Nurses often complain of being tired which I can understand but it is disheartening to hear. there is less nurses now that 3 months ago and they are stretched to the limit. After working 9 hours I have to wait to be put on a machine as there are not enough nurses. Often I have to remind them of the details of my treatment and the medications. If I complain the main nurse tells me I am abusing them.
We are patients and could do with some compassion and understanding but all I hear is they are tired.I have previously had dialysis in 2 different units which have closed and the care and atmosphere were totally different .some of them do care and make you feel welcome.messages from thedoctor often don't get passed on to nurses. Very depressing experience.
