"Fracture Clinic"

About: Doncaster Royal Infirmary / Trauma and orthopaedics

On Octobet 3rd I attended the fracture clinic as I had, had a fall, I was referred from another hospital together with X Ray results which showed an invulsion fracture on the left ankle. The consultant I saw was rude off hand and dismissive of anything I had to say. I questioned the report from the previous hospital they told me they were the consultant and the Person who made the initial diagnoses was 'just' a nurse. What a pompous person. When I asked them what I had done they said soft tissue damage but they stated I don't really know. Not been funny I thought they were the all knowing consultant. They put me in a tubi grip and a boot and sent me on my way. They didn't take the back slab of my leg or even look at my foot/ankle if they had they would have clearly seen the large amount of swelling and bruising. No 2nd appointment and little or no advice on care. I have now had a 2nd opinion and my ankle is in a cast to for 5 weeks with a 2nd appointment with consultant then to be put into a boot. The care I received is disgusting and if I hadn't of pushed for a 2nd opinion who knows what damage could have been caused.
