Got referred to Airedale from my GP on 4/10/16 for suspected appendicitis despite swift attention and great surgeons who performed an appendectomy the aftercare was more disappointing. After my operation I was put onto ward 9 and this is where things went wrong. Understaffed ward I complained about the noise as there was a patient shouting their head off every 5 minutes, and a patient who kept going a.w.o.l. I got no sleep and when coming up to my discharge I got no after care instructions for my wound, no spare dressings, no instructions on what to do. I am currently going to make a formal complaint about this as I'm stuck with a wound with no care instructions which is quite dangerous if you ask me. Airedales a good hospital just not good at matching patients with the right ward there is no way they should stick someone who is recovering from an operation with dementia patients as this meant I didn't get the proper rest or attention.
